the world. cnn's stacey valley joins us from new york. how did something like this happen, what is the dns changer? >> yeah, this is a problem several years in the make ppg what happened is a group of hackers created this virus and got away it for about five years. this is a long-running scan tp what it did is redirect internet traffic. so if you were trying to go to, for example, apple's eye tune store, it would reroute to you a faith website. on a lot of web sites they served fake advertisements. the fb i conducted a sting and over two years shut this down. they completely shut it down in november. at the time they caught it, about 4 million computers world ride were infected, including government computers. so it was a nasty one. >> can you figure out if your computer is infected, right? >> yes. the good news is they created a website. go to dns-ok-us. that's a website that fbi and groups it's working with put together. if you go to that website, you will see it go green. if you go to a green site, you are not infected. if you see anything else, though, there are instructions on that pa

60 have already died and now officials say they've made an important discovery. cnn's sara seidner reports from one of the areas hardest hit by this baffling illness. >> reporter: feverish and struggling to breathe, this 50-year-old is in bad shape. doctors are trying to diagnose him, well aware he has some of the symptoms of a mysterious illness that's killing young children in cambodia. nearly every child that has shown up in cambodian hospitals with the mystery syndrome has died. so far, this pediatrician has treated two children with the syndrome, both got worse by the hour, both died within a couple of days. one case the child's lungs deteriorated within hours. are you as a doctor worried because you don't know what it is exactly? >> for me i worry and it is important just to inform the parent when the child, you know, symptom like cough, high fever or respiratory stress. they also could bring the child to hospital. >> reporter: during the rainy season here at this southwest cambodian hospital, about 50 children a day are admitted. they normally have serious, but treatab treat

story. our own dan lothian and dana bash, they are both standing by live. but first cnn's poppy harlow breaks down the numbers. >> hi there, wolf. i think the headline for this jobs report is disappointing. only 80,000 jobs created in the month of june. unemployment stays at 8.2%. we need to be creating somewhere between 300,000 and 400,000 jobs a month pretty consistently to bring that rate down. issues here 12.7 million americans still unemployed in this country. 5.4 million of them have been out of work for six months or longer. the longer you're out of work, the longer it takes you to find a job. that is a problem. also very key here. 2.5 million people are not counted in this unemployment rate at all. they can work, but they have stopped looking for work. so they're not counted in the unemployment rate. so it's actually higher than 8.2%. also very key here is minorities. we have to look at what has happened to african-americans. their unemployment rate has gone up for the month of may. it's now nearly 14.5%. it is pretty much double unemployment for whites, hispanics, 11% unemploy

the very latest right now starting with cnn's ed lavandera. he's over at the movie theater where all of this unfolded. what is the very latest, ed? >> reporter: wolf, we've just confirmed with a law enforcement source as to where these four guns were purchased. we've been told by this law enforcement source that all four guns were purchased legally within the last six months. two of the guns were purchased at a bass pro shop in the city of denver. one of the guns was purchased at a mountain gander gun store here in the town of aurora. another was purchased at a gander mountain in thornton, colorado, as well. again, law enforcement source saying those guns were purchased legally within the last six months. we're also told by that law enforcement source that they had found a drum magazine that was connected to the ar-15 rifle. this would have given james holmes the ability to shoot about 100 rounds with that magazine. and the source saying obviously that gave him much more capability to fire off many many rounds once inside that theater. and, wolf, what we've learned from talking to wi

to find out? >> cnn has been able to independently confirm four of the 12 people that were killed early friday in aurora, colorado, at the movie theater. just into cnn earlier this morning, matt mcquinn being listed among the deceased. his family, like many others, spending hours agonizing, only to find out that their loved one was deceased. he was at the movie with his girlfriend and her brother and died while trying to save his girlfriend, shielding her from those bullets. to make matters even worse for her, the hospital would not confirm his condition, because they are not related. i want you to take a look at this next photo, alex sullivan, who planned to celebrate his 27th birthday with a special midnight showing there of "the dark knight." he was also anticipating his first wedding anniversary celebration on sunday, with his wife, you see there. he's described by his uncle as a funny guy, witty, smart, with a big heart. and you can tell right there from those photos that he was definitely a loving man. his family released a statement to cnn saying, the sullivan family lost a cheri

on. cnn's tom foreman has been investigating. tom, take us inside what was clearly designed to be a death trap, that apartment. you've been looking at how it was all assembled. >> yeah, wolf. this is really one of the great mysteries of the story. exactly what was the configuration inside this apartment. i want to talk about what we do know. look at this video from a few days back when authorities were trying to get in to this place. they were looking through the window moving very slowly. all explanations are because inside they were being met with an array of different explosives and triggers and potential problems. what do we know about what was inside that apartment? well f you look at this diagram here, it gives you some idea of what we're pretty certain of at this point. in the middle of the room were about 30 of these canisters, each about the size of a softball. this is the same sort of thing they use for fireworks displays that shoot up into the air. these we believe were packed with black powder. now, the way they were packed and the way they were wired would make

last month over allegations he misled the court about his finances. cnn's david matingly is in florida. the judge set bail at $1 million but still has strong words for him. what's the latest? >> reporter: well, the cost to zimmerman may go far beyond the $100,000 cash in collateral he has to put up to make that bond. there is a tremendous loss to his credibility throughout this entire process. the judge having some very strong words for him in the ruling. and they run like this saying that george zimmerman flaunted the system, tried to manipulate the system and had no justification for his deception when he tried to tell the court that he didn't have any money and didn't have any means to live when in fact he had $100,000 in donated cash and a passport on him. the judge also went on -- and this was a real surprise, that george zimmerman he believed was preparing to flee to avoid prosecution but plans were thwarted. the judge doesn't go into detail about how those plans were or how they came undone, but they believe george zimmerman was a flight risk. now we see him with a $1 million bo

by a needle but declined medical treatment. federal agents have launched a criminal investigation now. cnn's sandra endo is live in washington with the very latest. this is just outrageous. what have authorities uncovered so far? >> a full blown investigation is under way. the fbi and local authorities in the netherlands are trying to figure out how the needles got into those turkey sandwiches in the first place. a spokesperson says the neelds were found in sandwiches on flights from amsterdam to minneapolis, seattle, and two flights to atlanta. two of the needles were found by passengers and one was discovered by an air marshall. when delta found out about the needles in the food, the airline says it notified all 18 flights from amsterdam to stop serving the sandwiches. here's what one passenger who actually bit into one of the contaminated sandwiches said whe he spoke to affiliate ktsp. >> i bit down on it so that i wasn't biting down on the sharp side, but the flat side. it could have been a bad injury orally, but had i taken a big swallow and swallowed that down, i'd have a needle insi
